Most experts agree that morning sickness is caused by changing hormone levels during the first trimester of pregnancy. After the first trimester, those hormone levels tend to become steady and morning sickness becomes a thing of the past.

There are a number of things that, while they don’t cause morning sickness, can certainly aggravate it. Some women are sensitive to spicy or fatty foods. Other women might find their morning sickness triggered by travel in a car. For many women, strong smells can be a culprit.

The good news is that there are a number of solutions out there that can provide some relief from morning sickness for those with a strong sense of smell.

Nasal clips for morning sickness

One great way to deal with the smells that can trigger your morning sickness is by using nasal clips. Nasal clips can be conveniently purchased in many drugstores, and simply close off the nasal passages.

For some women, however, that’s not quite enough. You might need a little extra help getting those strong scents away, and preventing your morning sickness.

Morning Sickness Soothers are an example of a nasal clip-based solution. You insert this clip into your nose, onto your nasal septum (the cartilage that separates the nostrils).

How they work

This product contains essential oils that are specifically shown to help reduce nausea as well as protect your nose from strong and undesirable odors. You’ll barely notice that they are there, yet you’ll get a constant infusion of citrus or mint aroma. These scents will help to refresh you, and can help with morning sickness relief.

Morning Sickness Soothers are completely safe to use during pregnancy. You’re not applying anything to your skin, and you’re not ingesting them. There aren’t any artificial chemicals, either. These are simply all natural essential oils. They don’t make you sleepy (unlike many anti-nausea mediations) and they won’t interfere with other medications you’re taking either.

If you think that nasal clips might help you, feel free to discuss it with your doctor, just to cover any concerns particular to your situation.
